Have Questions About Our Solar Project Acquisition?
We understand you need clarity when considering a partnership for your early-stage solar projects. We've addressed the most common questions developers ask about our acquisition process, project criteria, and safe-harbor capabilities. Our transparent approach ensures you can confidently determine if Breakaway Renewables is the right partner for your renewable energy initiatives in Maine and New York.
Q1. What project sizes are you actively seeking to acquire?
Norwich Solar is specifically looking for early-stage solar projects between 1-5 MW in capacity. We're targeting a total acquisition of 10MW in Maine and 5MW in New York state. This size range allows us to efficiently deploy our development resources while maximizing incentives and interconnection opportunities in these strategic markets.
Q2. What are your minimum requirements for site control?
We require projects to have established site control, typically through a signed option agreement, lease, or ownership of the property. This ensures we can immediately begin the development process without delays. Our team can quickly evaluate your existing site control documentation to determine if it meets our standards and identify any potential issues that need addressing.
Q3. How quickly can you secure safe-harbor status for my project?
Our experienced team can rapidly implement safe-harbor strategies to meet critical Start of Construction deadlines. We are actively safe-harboring for projects through the end of 2025. This urgency helps maximize available tax incentives and ensures your project maintains its economic viability through development transitions.
Q4. What does your development process involve after acquisition?
After acquisition, we implement our proven development process that includes permitting, interconnection application management, engineering optimization, and financial structuring. We work with established EPC partners to ensure seamless project execution. Our integrated approach minimizes development risks while maximizing project value through our deep expertise in the Northeast renewable energy markets.
Q5. What information do you need for an initial project evaluation?
For an initial evaluation, we need basic project details including location, approximate size (MW), current development stage, site control documentation, and any completed interconnection studies or applications. Our project intake form captures this essential information, allowing our team to quickly assess the opportunity. Following submission, Kevin Davis will personally reach out to discuss next steps and potential acquisition terms.
